The Scouts learn valuable knowledge in boating safety, marine radios, lifesaving, and CPR. Our goal is to have all youth graduating from High School continue their training in the Maritime academies, universities, trades, or the military.

When we started the Willapa Harbor Sea Scout program in 2017 we witnessed a great need for our youth to be able to learn and establish maritime careers. Many maritime captains and port commissioners have reached out to Willapa Harbor Sea Scouts for the need of more young people in the maritime business. There are literally hundreds of jobs unfilled currently and hundreds more expected in the next few years as people retire out of the maritime industry.
